The FCT Administration has threatened to revoke any undeveloped plot of land where basic infrastructure already exists.

The FCT Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar, made this threat while commissioning a multi-million-naira Banrut Rolls Nigeria Limited factory building at Idu industrial layout, Abuja.

The Minister said that the accelerated development programme introduced by the government has not yielded any appreciable result as envisaged; stating that the factory is the only one that has been developed according to the timeframe.

Dr. Umar therefore called on all those given plots under the accelerated development programme to strive to live up to the expectation of the government or have them revoked and given to more serious developers.

"The FCT Administration under my leadership has no time for land speculation as you either develop your plot or have it revoked and given to a more serious developer," he added.

The Minister revealed that the FCT Administration will before the end of his tenure; construct the Utako to Dei-Dei expressway to add value to the property in the Idu industrial zone.

His words, "the construction of the road will add value to the Idu Industrial area and will fast track development in the FCT as business activities will naturally spring up thereby providing employment opportunities to the residents."

He called on genuine and sincere investors to come into the FCT and take advantage of the international standard infrastructure provided; the high level of security as well as its cosmopolitan nature.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Banrut Rolls Nigeria Limited, Mr. Samson Ataiyero, paid tribute to the FCT Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar and the Niger State Governor for their selfless service to humanity.

He stated that the land on which the factory is built was allocated in April 2007 and its construction commenced in the last week of July 2007 while their product hit the market in May, 2008 in less than one year.

The Chairman remarked that their products is of international standard to satisfy not only Nigerian consumers but other West African countries.
